This fee seems to be some sort of expansion on their life line fee. So for the first purchase of the month, a household can buy 300 kWh cumulatively for a ZWL$510.00.
The power authority says this the expansion of the life line was motivated by the COVID-19 era we are living in. Their hope is that it makes things a little easier both in price for the consumer and on their systems at the beginning of a new month.
